1. With regard to the armed attack on the guard post of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Libya on April 12 that left two Libyan police officers killed and another injured, the Government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns the attack and offers its deep condolence to the bereaved families of the victims.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea reiterates its firm position that the principle of inviolability of diplomatic missions should be respected and that attacks and violence against diplomatic missions cannot be justified under any circumstances.

3. The Government of the Republic of Korea is deeply concerned over the loss of many lives caused by the civil war in Libya and hopes that the situation in the country will stabilize as soon as possible through dialogue and other peaceful means.
