1. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Armenia in 2017, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se of the ROK exchanged celebratory messages with Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian of Armenia.

* The ROK and Armenia established diplomatic relations on February 21, 1992.

2. In his message, Minister Yun noted with appreciation that since forging diplomatic relations, the ROK and Armenia have been seeing their friendly and cooperative ties advance in various fields, including trade, investment and high-level exchanges. He voiced hope that the two countries will see the scope of their cooperation broaden to include various other sectors, such as mining industry and information and communications technology.

3. Minister Nalbandian, taking note of the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperative ties built by the two countries over the past 25 years, expressed confidence that the two countries will further develop their relations through joint efforts.

4. The ROK and Armenia plan to hold their fourth policy consultation and an “Armenian cultural day” event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2017. These events are expected to help further promote mutual understanding and exchanges between the peoples of the two countries.
